On the Insurgentes Avenue, one of the main routes of the City of Mexico connecting five city boroughs, on the ground floor of the modernist building designed by the bearers of Mexican modernism Augusto H. Álvarez and Sordo Madaleno, stands an exhibition space named Liga—espacio para arquitectura (Liga—space for architecture). The gallery only sixteen square meters in size has in just a couple of years of its running become a vital point on the map of experimental exhibitions of architecture. Founded in 2011, as a side project of the architectural office Productora and curator Ruth Estévez with a goal of presenting progressive young architectural offices of Latin America, the gallery has up until now organised over seventy exhibitions and accompanying events such as lectures, presentations, discussions.
